At the same visit the dentist checks for cavities, gum disease, worn fillings and signs of other problems, and takes X-rays when they are due. Finding a small cavity early means a small filling instead of a root canal later.
Most people should come in every six months. If you have gum disease, we may recommend a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) and more frequent visits.

Does a cleaning hurt?
A regular cleaning should not hurt. If your gums are sensitive, tell us and we will go gently or numb the area.
How often should I get my teeth cleaned?
Every six months for most people. Patients with gum disease may need visits every three to four months.
What is a deep cleaning?
A deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) cleans below the gumline when gum disease has formed pockets. We tell you if you need it and why.
Do you see children?
Yes — we see kids and adults, so the whole family can come to one office.
Do you take insurance or Medicaid?
