Which dental plan do I have?
Every Florida Medicaid member is enrolled in one of three dental plans: DentaQuest, Liberty Dental or MCNA Dental. The plan name is on your dental ID card or in your enrollment letter. If you’re not sure, call Florida’s Medicaid Choice Counselors at 1-877-711-3662.
You can change dental plans during your first 120 days in a plan and during your yearly open enrollment period.
What Florida Medicaid dental covers for adults (21+)
Covered services include:
- Exams: check-up exams twice a year, plus a complete exam periodically
- X-rays needed for diagnosis
- Cleanings twice a year, and fluoride
- Fillings for front and back teeth when medically necessary
- Extractions (pulling teeth) when medically necessary
- Deep cleanings (periodontal scaling) when medically necessary
- Dentures: a full or partial denture per arch, plus relines
- Emergency visits to treat pain and infection
Some services need prior approval from the dental plan before treatment starts. Your dentist’s office sends the request for you.
What is usually not covered for adults
- Braces and clear aligners (orthodontics)
- Dental implants
- Cosmetic treatment such as whitening or veneers

- Find your plan name (DentaQuest, Liberty or MCNA).
- Choose a dentist who accepts Medicaid and your plan.
- Book a check-up and cleaning — it’s covered twice a year and it’s how small problems are caught early.
- Ask before treatment whether a procedure needs prior approval.
