Which Florida Medicaid dental plan do I have?
Florida Medicaid dental care is provided through two statewide dental plans:
- DentaQuest: 1-888-468-5509
- LIBERTY Dental Plan: 1-833-276-0850
Your plan name is on your dental ID card and in your enrollment letter. If you’re not sure which plan you have, or you want to change plans, call Florida Medicaid Choice Counseling at 1-877-711-3662 (Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.).
Base Florida Medicaid dental benefits for adults (21+)
Every adult member has these base dental benefits:
- Exams and X-rays focused on a specific problem, such as pain
- Extractions (pulling teeth)
- Dentures: full and partial dentures
- Pain management for toothaches and infections
- Sedation when it’s needed for treatment
Expanded benefits: cleanings, fillings and more
The dental plans also offer expanded benefits for adults. According to AHCA, these include:
- Cleanings (prophylaxis) and fluoride
- Fillings
- Diagnostic X-rays
- Deep cleanings (periodontal scaling and maintenance) when your gums need it
- Root canals and crowns for adults 65 and older and for people with developmental disabilities
Many of these services need prior approval from your dental plan before treatment starts. Our office sends the request for you and tells you what was approved before we begin.
What adult Florida Medicaid dental usually does not cover
- Braces and clear aligners for adults
- Dental implants
- Cosmetic treatment such as whitening or veneers
- Crowns and root canals for most adults 21 to 64
